According to news from the Manzhouli Customs on the 29th, recently, the customs set up a special post to complete the TIR transportation procedures for two Russian trucks and exit the country through the Manzhouli Highway Port. This marks that China and Russia have officially ushered in the first TIR transportation without freight route restrictions (that is, the transportation company can adjust the route in time according to factors such as weather, road conditions, and vehicle conditions).

中俄首票无货运线路限制TIR运输正式出境

According to official sources, the loading of heavy machinery TIR trucks has completed TIR procedures at Shibali Customs in Manzhouli, and the journey will be 9,300 kilometers in the western Russian city of Tver. The transportation company will choose the route by itself. The transportation time is 12 days.

According to Manzhouli Customs, the TIR system, also known as the International Road Transport System, is the world's only cross-border cargo transportation customs clearance system. By simplifying customs clearance procedures and improving customs clearance efficiency, it promotes the facilitation and safety of multilateral trade and international transportation. China formally acceded to the United Nations 'International Road Transport Convention' ('TIR Convention') on July 5, 2016 and became the 70th signatory to the Convention.

It is worth mentioning that this TIR transport is carried by the Russian transport company, and the route selection is more flexible. The transport company can adjust the route in time according to weather, road conditions, vehicle conditions and other factors, so it can be determined as the first ticket for China and Russia. There are no freight routes to restrict TIR transportation.

The success of TIR transportation without freight line restrictions will also have a positive impact on neighboring countries, and promote their participation in the TIR system, which will further release the potential of the Eurasian Continental Bridge Economic Belt and provide new opportunities for Chinese companies to 'go global' .
